We have four beers we are bringing along.
Black Perle, our 3.5% coffee milk stout. A rare outing for this in keg format.
Mariana Trench, our 5.1% pale ale. A best seller that hopefully you will be familiar with.
Holy Hoppin' Hell Batch 2, our 9.7% Double IPA. This one uses the same hops as Marina Trench but at twice the abv and four times the hopping rates. It will almost be the launch of this beer. (One cask will sneak out for the Meet the Brewer at Cask Pub and Kitchen)
Bad Habit, our and Northern Monks' 8.6% Belgian Tripel with a small twist of Cascade.
We have two pairs of tickets to one of the sessions to give away for this Festival. Leave a comment with your "Bad Habit" that you hope to bring (or not) to LCBF and the best two will win the tickets. (The selection will be made by the Weird Beard Collective, namely Gregg and Bryan). Deadline for comments is 1st August.
Here is other key information for the festival.

'Bad Habit' is the nickname for my drinking buddy that I am bringing to LCBF. Her actual name is Sister Magdalena Boozalotti, a beer lovin' nun who gets a bit slutty after suppin' on a few Weird Beard saisons.
ReplyDeleteBanana chips. I eat entirely too many banana chips. I'll bring some to the festival.
ReplyDeleteI drink far too much terrible lager, I need re-education in the way of craft beers. I promise not to bring any lager in a brown paper bag.
ReplyDeleteSpending too much of my budget on beer so I have to skimp on everything else, worth it!
ReplyDeleteI shave my beard way too often even though I hate doing it. Perhaps I could grow it and bring it along to the festival!
ReplyDeleteI've got a bad habit of trying way to many beers in one night, if chance is given. A bad habit bar owners/brewers might consider a good habit, i'll most definitely bring that habit to the beer festival!
ReplyDeletekick ass song to listen to while drinking kick ass beer...

Deeply rooted belief in the absolute superiority of Pilsner-brewed lager (exaggerated by what little national pride I may have left) and a general (and possibly misguided) mistrust of anything brewed on these here British Isles... Prove me wrong DAMMIT!:)
ReplyDeleteEver since I saw this I've been struggling to remember the lyrics to a song by a local folk-rock band from Stoke On Trent fronted by a Top-Hatted electric fiddle player called Terry Fox, he's still knocking about if you google him. This song was about "self gratification" shall we say. It's been a while and I can only half remember a couple of verses (there were loads), it was something (don't quote me) like this…

RHYTHMIC HABITS!
Doesn't sound much but true me when these guys performed it it was brilliant.

DeleteI drink craft beer every evening, instead of tea. Sometimes I pretend it is tea by putting it in a mug, just to make myself feel better.
ReplyDeleteMy bad habits are twofold:
ReplyDelete1. I have a tendency to visit the Manchester city centre branch of a certain multinational fast food after a number of good beers. I know, it's disgusting but I'm going to put this down to the fact that I usually drink beers of only 7% or more on nights out - it tends to cloud the judgement. This habit is so bad I once left a club midway through a night out, went for a sit down meal in said restaurant before returning to the club, much to the bemusement of my friends.
2. I may sing the odd Stone Roses/Oasis song after a few more beers. Not sure whether this is an attempt to affirm my Mancunian-ness (if this is even a thing) but when it combines with habit number 1, the results are less than perfect - apparently resulting in refusal of service and removal from the premises.
Unfortunately I can't bring habit number 1 to LCBF due to the difficulty in relocating said restaurant from Manchester but if you ask nicely, I may serenade you with a remix of She Bangs the Drums.
Bad habit? Hell yes! I can't get enough of playing Michael Jackson's 1987 masterpiece over and over and over...
ReplyDeleteI've got a bad habit of leaving pets on public transport. All shapes and sizes, really. One time it was a rabbit, another it was a pretty hefty Alsatian. They were all well hydrated and microchipped though, so it all turned out fine.
ReplyDeleteSo really, if I end up bringing a horse to the festival, there's no need to say 'why the long face?', since it'll all be OK in the end!

ReplyDeleteNun pin bowling. Nothing like taking a bunch of them down with a well aimed keg.
ReplyDeleteAnd much better than using penguins.
CONTEST CLOSED, Please do not enter any more comments, your entry will not be counted and you may be still charged ;-)
